Hai nuove uscite in arrivo? Puoi anticiparci qualcosa?

C’è qualche Dj o produttore che stimi particolarmente?

Certo ce ne sono molti.. però direi.. Röyksopp, Jori Hulkkonnen, Jennifer Cardini e James Holden.

Prossimi club o festival dove ti troveremo?

ENGLISH VERSION

Until this time we heard a lot of stories about DJs who after reaching their celebrity are moving in Berlin, capital of electronic music. Nevertheless your story is a bit different since you grow up with your sound in Berlin and afterwards you decided to move back in Spain. How could you motivate this choice?

I moved to Berlin because I needed a change in my life, to experience new challenges, and to leave the stress of a big city. When I visited Berlin for the first time, I fell in love with its energy and freedom, so when I felt lost I quickly knew what I had to do…move to Berlin.

By coincidences of life when i arrive to the city a spanish agency call me, they want my worldwide exclusivity, and the most funny thing is that i hadn’t any single released, so i couldn’t believe it! So with time i come back to live to Spain, because most gigs i had were there.

What about the differences between Germany and Spain, with regard to their public scene, clubs and night life?

Music is a universal language and it doesn’t matter where you are or which club that you go to, because we all want to have fun.

How is going on the electronic music scene in Spain nowadays?

I think Spain is within a very productive time and we have amazing labels and internationally known artists of many different styles. Years ago this was unthinkable, so I think we have to continue to support each other and fight for this to continue.

Now, let’s talk about your music. Let’s say it’s a mixture of different genres: techno, electronic, melodic (with lyrics), deep. Where your impressive capabilities of mixing up so different genres come from?

I am surrounded by a lot of different musical styles when I am at home, so it is easy to listen to my songs much eclecticism. This has been directly influenced by my father, because at home we would hear many styles of music: Latin, classical, soul, pop, flamenco, folk…

What is in your opinion the most determinant quality for a DJ/producer?

That is a good question… I’ve been thinking about this question for over five minutes, and I could not focus on only one quality, but several: perseverance, faith and something that cannot be put into words, which in Flemish is called “duende”.

When and how do you decide to work on a new LP? Which one do you consider the most important source of inspiration for yourself?

Well the idea of making a new album was always there since I finished the first one, but not until recently was I ready for it.

For this second album I was inspired especially by faith. It may sound strange, but in this period of time, I had a really deep creative crisis, and I came to the conclusion that if I don’t believe in something that I would just be dying. If I stopped believing, if I lose the illusion, then I don’t even want to get out of bed…

Do you have any upcoming release?

I will release an exclusive track on the ‘Correspondant’ label( jennifer carding property) and also 2 remixes for ‘factory city’ and ‘manual music.’

Which kind of programs and analogical machines do you prefer for your lives?

I like to have a balance between analog and digital audio. What I don’t like to change is the Ableton sequencer which I favor.

In your opinion is that more difficult or easier for a woman to succeed in this world, comparing with the majority of male Djs?

Forget your gender and just give the importance to your work.

What have been till now your biggest satisfactions in terms of your career?

I think it was closing the Sonar Barcelona and Sonar Galicia within the same year. It was an unforgettable moment.

Italian djs are often complaining about the fact they are much more appreciated abroad than in their own Country. On the other hand the clubbers are complaining about Italian nightlife and they usually prefer to follow abroad their favorite sounds. Does it happen also in Spain?

I think that this happens in all countries. Like human nature, we sometimes care more about outsiders than those that are close to us, funny eh?

Is there any dj or producer you particularly appreciate?

Of course, I have many. But I would say: Röyksopp, jori hulkkonnen, Jennifer cardini and james holden

Next clubs or festivals? Where will we find you?

I will be touring Mexico and other cities around Spain( A Coruña, León, Lleida, Toledo).
