Grazie!

Grazie Polpetta!

ENGLISH VERSION

What led you to leave your hometown in Japan 10 years ago to land in Europe?

I was already Djing in JAPAN and just wanted to try to spread my DJ career to next level in London.

How is clubbing in Japan, and which are the differences between it and Europe?

It’s very good in Japan,a lot of internationl djs love to play there. And sound system & dj set up is organized very well,it is japanease way. Difference is that club culture is more common in EU than JAPAN, only specific and limited people who love club culture & dance music go there that why atmosphere is pretty good.

You first step was London, in which you started your infamous party Holic. Does it work even now?

I started it at legend club The END/AKA in 2005,it was special moment for me, I was very proud to be resident dj for that super club. I was so sad and could not think anything when the manger told me about the end/aka closing.. Yes we still do it at several venues in London, also in Japan.

Tell us what would happen in a typical night in your Holic Party.

Our people are open mind for music so djs can always try to play some of craziest music they have found and they are relax & friendly so never fight, always smile until the end of party.

That party was a springboard for your success, then you started your own label Holic Trax. Which are the Holic’s releases of which you are most proud to this day?

Our first release is from legend Mr.G, I am big fun of him so I am proud of this and it is special EP, super rare & expensive on discog now haha

Which is the label philosophy?

No trend, No hype, good&tough house music we trust.

What are the concept behind the Doublet project, that you develop together with Tuccillo?

No really concept, it is more organic things like we are good friend and having fun to be In studio together. Music wise we have similar back ground of house music, we both love classic house music with soulful funky vibe so we always bring that to latest dace music to make our own unique sound.

Actually you are living in Berlin. Do you think It’s a better place to work being a DJ?

Yes it is great city for djs with a lot of good clubs, record shops & studio spaces. Also very good vibe between artists & artists, they help each other.

What’s your sensation about the project of Inground Bookings, label active in Berlin and led by Italians, directly linked to the party Select*Elect?

I like the attitude behind it, They are very enthusiastic and passionate.
I think they will have some good surprises in store for the next few months in terms of new signings. Moreover, they also run parties called Select*Elect. That’s already since back in London. I’ve had the chance to play at few of the parties and it was TOP. Last time I’ve played at Select*Elect was two weeks ago in Berlin, Griessmühle. Always a friendly atmosphere and good music!

If we were to go on vacation in Japan, which cities would you recommend to visit, also according to the nightlife? Something that we couldn’t miss.

You will be surprised about Tokyo,it is super big city with full of people & buildings, totally difference from EU. OSAKA is also cool city which is my home town, and KYOTO is Historical place so you could seed a lot of old things.

Nightlife…… yes My resident Club WOMB is always top!

Last question: some tracks that you listen more often lately.

I do not why but I enjoy to listen some of old school hip hop these days, maybe because I will get MPC3000 soon!
