Quando nascere in un piccolo paesino del nord della Francia ti porta a sognare di luoghi lontani e a trasformarli in musica.

Influenze asiatiche, vibrazioni arabeggianti, questo é il mondo del giovane e talentuoso Fakear.

Pare essere una delle rivelazioni della scena elettronica francese, ha già fatto parlare di sé anche in Asia.

Noi l’abbiamo incontrato in Svizzera durante il Festival Weekend au bord de l’eau, ecco com’é andata:

Polpetta:

Si parla di te come della nuova promessa dell’elettronica made in France. In Italia, ahimè, si sente ancora poco il tuo nome. Ti va di presentarti ai nostri followers? Di raccontarci un po’ di te, di come nasci..

Fakear:

Ho creato questo progetto nel 2010 e onestamente non mi aspettavo questo successo. Tutto è iniziato grazie a un concorso che vinsi nella mia città, in Normandia, da lì a poco sono cresciuto come artista e Fakear é diventato come un ponte tra la musica pop e l’elettronica. Ho avuto la fortuna di suonare in diversi festival in Francia e questo mi ha fatto crescere come artista: sia dal punto di vista musicale sia per quanto riguarda la popolarità. A dirla tutta non credo di fare un nuovo genere musicale, tanto meno di aver creato un nuovo stile. Non sono il primo ad avvicinarsi a queste sonorità, diversi artisti suonano questa “pop electronic music”. Probabilmente al momento sono semplicemente il più popolare.

Polpetta:

Hai iniziato con il rock, un mondo completamente diverso. Cos’è successo? Perché questo cambio di rotta?

Fakear:

Semplice! Volevo comporre la MIA musica, da solo. Nelle rock band questo non è possibile, c’è sempre chi compone e chi suona musica creata da un altro membro. Volevo evitare proprio questo: imporre ad altri di suonare i miei pezzi.

Ho iniziato a scrivere nei due anni precedenti la nascita di Fakear ed ora..eccomi qui!

Polpetta:

Dici di non aver creato un nuovo genere.. Come definiresti allora ciò che fai? O più banalmente: tre parole che descrivano la tua musica.

Fakear:

Se devo essere onesto non è facile trovare parole per descriverla. È qualcosa che viene da me, dal mio io. Sarà banale ma la mia musica é la mia arte, la mia musica sono io. Non a caso in essa faccio tesoro di diverse influenze, esperienze di vita. Per questo devo dire grazie ai miei genitori che ascoltando qualsiasi genere mi hanno permesso di avere una visione a 360′ del panorama musicale.

 

Polpetta:

Dietro il nome di ogni dj c’è una storia, cosa si cela dietro il tuo?

Fakear:

Nessuna storia degna di nota, semplicemente perché faccio musica col computer e perciò é falsa. Dall’inglese fake, falso. (Ride)

Polpetta:

Hai suonato in uno dei più grandi locali del Giappone, Ageha. Raccontaci di questa esperienza.

Fakear:

La mia label organizzó la data.

Inizialmente ero molto agitato: nelle mie tracce i riferimenti e le influenze collegate al Giappone sono numerose ed era proprio questo che mi preoccupava. Avevo paura che il pubblico non mi capisse, avevo paura che la mia visone del loro mondo fosse sbagliata e invece ne sono rimasti entusiasti.

É stato figo!

Polpetta:

Questa sera suonerai prima di Bonobo,uno dei tuoi mentori. Come ti senti? Emozionato?

Fakear:

Decisamente, molto emozionato. In realtà ho già suonato in suo supporto il novembre scorso, a Parigi ma Bonobo é uno dei dj che maggiormente mi ha ispirato quindi come potrei non esserlo?! Probabilmente senza di lui non ci sarebbe Fakear……

 

Polpetta:

Piani per il futuro?

Fakear:

“Keep touring until death!”

Il mio calendario é fitto di date: fino a settembre sarò in giro per l’Europa (soprattuto in Francia) e da ottobre partirà il mio tour in America e Inghilterra.

Inutile dire che sto lavorando ad un album, forse per il prossimo gennaio sarà pronto.

Concludiamo l’intervista con un arrivederci e con la speranza, di entrambi, di vederlo presto solcare palchi italiani.

Being born in a small village in the Northern France makes you dream of  far away places and turn them into music.

Asian influences, vibrations arabesque, this is the world of the young and talented Fakear.

He seems to be one of the revelations in the French electronic scene, he’s already made the sort of headlines in Asia.

We met him in Switzerland during the Festival Weekend au bord de l’eau, here is what it’s like going there:

Polpetta:

We heard about you like the new promise of eletronic made in France. Unfortunately in Italy we don’t get in touch with your name still . Would you like to introduce yourself to our followers? Tell us something about you, how you were born..

Fakear:

I created this project in 2010 and honestly I did not expect this success. It all started with a contest that I won in my city, in Normandy, I would soon have grown as an artist and Fakear has become a bridge between pop music and electronics. I was lucky enough to play in several festivals in France and that made me grow as an artist: both in terms of music and  popularity. To be honest I do not think I’m making a new kind of genre, neither that I created a new style.I’m not the first to approach these sounds, different artists play this “electronic pop music”. Maybe I’m the most popular at the moment.

Polpetta:

You started with the rock, a whole different world. What happened? Why this change of course?

Fakear:

It’s simple!” I wanted to make my music by myself. In a rock band that’s not possible, there is always someone who composes and plays music created by another member. I wanted to avoid this: to impose on others to play my tracks. 

I started writing in the two years preceding the birth of Fakear and now…. Here I am!

Polpetta:

You say you have not created a new genre .. How would you describe what you do then? Or more simply: three words that describe your music.

Fakear:

To be honest it is not easy finding words to describe it. It is something that comes from me, from my ego. Will be trivial but my music is my art, my music is me. No coincidence that in it I treasure of different influences, life experiences. To this I must say thanks to my parents that listening to any kind allowed me to have a 360 ‘of music scene.

Polpetta:

Behind the name of each dj is a story, what lies behind your?

Fakear:

No remarkable story, simply because I make music with computers and therefore is false. English fake, false. (Laughs)

Polpetta:

You played in one of the largest local Japan, Ageha. Tell us about this experience.

Fakear:

My label I organized the date.

Initially I was very upset: in my tracks references and influences related to Japan are numerous and that was what worried me. I was afraid that the public will not understand me, I was afraid that my vision of their world was wrong and instead they loved it.

It was cool!

Polpetta:

This evening you will play before Bonobo, one of your mentors. How do you feel? Excited?

Fakear:

Very, very excited. I’ve actually been playing in his support last November, in Paris but Bonobo is one of the DJs who most inspired me so how could I not be ?! Probably without him there would Fakear ……

Polpetta:

Plans for the future?

Fakear:

“Keep touring until death!”

My calendar is full of dates: until September I will be traveling around Europe (above all in France) and from October will start my tour in America and England.

Needless to say, I’m working on an album, perhaps next January will be ready.
